Third National Tax Conference: ‘Taxes, Bankruptcy and Restructuring’.

The third edition of the National Tax Conference, ‘Taxes, Bankruptcy, and Restructuring’, took place on 20–21 October 2025 in Izbicko, near Opole. This interdisciplinary conference combines issues from the fields of insolvency and tax law. With its high-level presentations, diverse topics and opportunities for the academic community and practitioners to exchange experiences, it is the only event of its kind in Poland, bringing together experienced practitioners and legal theorists from various fields, particularly tax, bankruptcy and restructuring law.

The conference was officially opened by: Dr. Piotr Stanisławiszyn – Head of the Department of Economic and Financial Law at the University of Opole, Dr. Piotr Stec, Professor at the University of Opole – Director of the Institute of Legal Sciences at the University of Opole, Dr. Andrzej Gorgol – Head of the Department of Administrative and Financial Law at the Institute of Public Administration at the University of Zielona Góra, and Bartosz Trzaska – Chairman of the Opole Branch of the Polish Chamber of Tax Advisers.

This year’s edition of the conference was distinguished by the special format of the second day of the proceedings, during which thematic panels were held, dedicated primarily to representatives of local governments. The second day of the conference was officially opened by Grzegorz Czarnocki, President of the Regional Chamber of Audit in Opole. These meetings provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss current challenges in public finance at the local level.

A total of over 170 people took part in the conference, including representatives from the Tax System Department, such as Director Beata Rogowska-Rajda (PhD) and Deputy Director Emil Chojnacki, as well as prominent figures from academic centres across the country and specialists from leading Polish law firms. The conference featured nine thematic panels and over forty presentations.
