Requirements:

  • A student in at least the fourth year of a single master’s degree program in law;
  • ability to work in a team;
  • Communication skills and punctuality;
  • MS Office operation;
  • Good knowledge of French and English.

Job Description:

  • queries on the jurisprudence of common courts, public administration practice
    and the literature of cultural heritage protection law;
  • Maintaining the project database;
  • Organizational support of the Polish project team in terms of maintaining the current correspondence and calendar of the project and ensuring communication between team members;
  • Cooperation in the organization of meetings of the Polish project team;
  • Cooperation in organizing meetings of the Polish team with other participants in the international research program;
  • Cooperation in the dissemination of project results.

NCN competition type: OPUS – HS project carried out in international cooperation.

Terms of employment:

  • The winner(s) will receive an NCN stipend for 12 months, starting April 1, 2021.
  • In case of a mutual declaration of intent, the contract can be extended for another 12 months.
  • The salary in the project is PLN 1,300 gross*.
  • The scholarship is awarded in accordance with the rules for awarding scholarships in the regulations for research projects funded by the National Science Center (NCN).

*According to § 1 of the Ordinance of the Minister of Finance, Funds and Regional Policy dated December 22, 2020, amending the Ordinance on the abandonment of collection of personal income tax on income (income) from certain scholarships and other funds granted by the National Science Center (Journal of Laws 2020, item 2359), the abandonment of tax collection is extended until December 31, 2021.

    6) a letter of recommendation (if the candidate has one);

Project name: Legal forms of cultural heritage management in Europe in a comparative legal perspective”.

Brief description of the project:

The aim of the project, carried out within the framework of international scientific cooperation, is to analyze and systematize the most important institutions of national cultural heritage law in selected European countries (Croatia, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom), in a comparative perspective. The research undertaken as part of the project thus aims to investigate whether and to what extent European systems of cultural heritage law have similarities or certain unifying elements, and if so, whether it is possible to establish common terminology and concepts relating to this area of regulation in Europe. The project’s contribution to a broader, international research program conducted by the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) in Paris is to analyze the Polish legal system for the protection of cultural heritage based on a comparative research questionnaire. In this connection, it will be examined whether and to what extent Polish law in this area belongs to the common European core of cultural heritage law, and whether it contributes to its construction and crystallization. The scientific analysis undertaken as part of the project is based on the study of the content of normative acts, court decisions, public administration practice, cultural policy instruments and the literature on the subject.
